Q: What are the System Requirements?
A: Microsoft Outlook Express or Outlook 2000 or higher (Windows) - that's all!
Q: Do I need to know HTML?
A: No! You simply put the stationery into the folder we direct you to.
Q: Can I use my stationery with other email programs?
A: Yes, if the email program supports stationery, it will allow you to select your stationery.
Q: What happens if the person I send it to doesn't have a program that supports stationery?
A: The message will simply display as a plain text email with or without an attachment.
Q: Can I get it for my company or the entire office?
A: Yes - You receive a base template, each additional template is individualized for each employee for a nominal fee.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Under most circumstances, the final product is delivered within two weeks of signing the contract, it would not be unusual to have it within one week.
Q: What other email programs can view stationery or HTML?
A: AOL 6.0 or higher, Netscape, Eudora, Hotmail and Yahoo to name a few.
Q: Can I do what I normally do in Outlook?
A: Yes! You can do all the things you would normally do in Outlook using the html format option. Here are examples of things you normally do - Nothing changes!
Cut and paste newsletters into body of email message
Select font and change decoration, color, style, size, indentation.
Cut and paste pictures into body of email.
Choose to use or not to use stationery.
Choose to use stationery fonts or your own.
Put links in your page so others can click on them.
Format your message however you want.
Q: What happens when I reply or forward an email message?
A: When you hit reply, to reply to someone's email, Outlook uses the format that the originator used. So if "Mary" sends you an email using her favorite stationery, when you hit reply, her formatted message scoots down and your message appears on top, over her selected background using her stationery fonts if she has those. The same sort of thing happens when you hit forward, whatever stationery is used by the originator is what you type over the top of. The only time your stationery is used is when you create a new mail message (and you have selected to use your stationery).
Q: What happens if someone replies or forwards my email message when I used stationery?
A: Your formatted message scoots down. Their message goes over the top of your background using your stationery fonts if that person has selected that option (to use stationery fonts).
Q: What does **Start Typing** mean?
A: That shows you the 'box' that your message goes into. The box expands downward as you type, or copy, cut and paste. Simply double click the **Start Typing** text and type over the top of it-thereby deleting it. It's just for you to see and is not intended to be used in your message.
Q: What happens when someone prints my message that I sent using the stationery?
A: Outlook treats it as a plain text message and won't print the backgrounds or the pictures, thereby saving the person's printer ink.
Q: What does the plain text message look like?
A: We take great care in creating a message that will not only look great in HTML (stationery) but also as plain text. The plain text will have a nice header, and footer, and the body of the message will be separated by dotted lines. This makes for a very nice plain text email with as much formatting as possible squeezed in.
Q: I've heard that formatted messages take up more room in someone's mail box, what are the consequences of this?
A: Stationery does use more memory than a plain text email. We try to keep the size down below 20KB, but, adding pictures and logos and graphics can increase the size up around 33KB. We do everything we can to optimize the stationery.
